The purpose of the United Methodist Men is to engage in a variety of Christ-centered activities for the benefit of the ministries, programs, and activities of the church and its members. Since its formation in 1948, our men's organization strives to create opportunities for men of the church to be in service to Christ and to the community.
We count all male members and friends among the UMM! There are no dues or fees to join.
We currently have a ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out) lunch about once a month. Past UMM outings have included trips to play mini-golf and to watch Washington Nationals baseball games. Although Covid-19 created a significant disruption in our fellowship and service activities, we are now able to enjoy cookouts, potlucks, informational programs, or other activities as our members desire.
St. Paul's UMM also has a tradition of donating financial support and volunteer time to many groups and projects including:
Boy Scout Troop #439, Venture Crew, and Cub Scout Pack #478
Church Van Operations
St. Paul's Library
The Educational Award Fund
St. Paul's Hunger Ministry
St. Paul's Youth Travel and Mission Projects
Baltimore-Washington Conference UMC Camping & Retreat Ministries, including West River Center
Red Bird Mission in rural Kentucky
UMCOR
The NIH Children's Inn
Children's National Medical Center
The United Methodist Men raise funds through events such as the Apple Sale and Pancake Breakfasts! Our event volunteers include men, women, children, and families. Come be with us!
